WNMU Foundation Scholarships
The Western New Mexico University Foundation offers numerous scholarships that are awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, and/or other specific criteria set by donors.
All students may be eligible for various types of financial aid, including scholarships. Current WNMU students and prospective students who have submitted an Admissions application and have been assigned a University Identification Number (W00) are strongly encouraged to submit an online WNMU Foundation Scholarship Application.
The application is available online annually October 1st through January 31st for the following academic year.
These funds are made available by the contributions and gifts made to the WNMU Foundation from generous individuals, community service groups, businesses, and other non-profit entities.
Although completing a FAFSA form annually is highly recommended, it is not a requirement in order to complete the WNMU Foundation Scholarship Application. It is recommended that all students should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually by our March 1st priority deadline to be considered for need-based scholarships and other Financial Aid opportunities. Applicants fill out the FAFSA online. Step-by-step instructions to help you complete the application are provided online. The FAFSA application is completed online at http://www.fafsa.gov/
Scholarship awards are subject to change each year. The total number and amount of scholarships are based upon the funds available. Scholarships are granted to high school, undergraduate and graduate students. They are awarded at the beginning of each semester. Only complete applications will be reviewed. Scholarship applications must be submitted each year and are evaluated independently each year, to be considered for awards. Past awards or denials are not determinates of the current year evaluations. We encourage students to apply each year!

There is no limit on how many times a student can be considered for scholarships. Students should apply every year.
Scholarship amounts change yearly and range from $100.00 to full tuition. Applicants are not guaranteed a scholarship, as scholarship amounts vary each year depending on the number of students who apply, and the dollar value available.
