WNMU's Language Institute is seeking a part-time temporary English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor. The teacher will help our students build their English skills and strengthen their conversational confidence.

  • Address all aspects of communication through approved curriculum that develops each student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the proper content area.
  • Prepare and deliver beginner and intermediate lessons to students of all ages.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility while incorporating challenging strategies
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students
  • Provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work

 


Requires 6 hours of instruction per week for 18 weeks, a total of 110 hours per session. Otherwise, instruction hours will total 74 hours per session and computer curriculum is taught by a Basic Computer Instructor. ELS Instructors address all section of curriculum: Grammar, Reading and Writing, as well as Listening and Speaking.
 

Associate, Bachelor or Masters with ESL Instruction training or experience to include a teaching field or endorsement in one of the following (or equivalent): ESL, TESOL, BLED, Language Arts required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelors or Masters in one of the following areas: Education, and/or TESOL as well as experience in teaching basic computer classes
