Working with WNMU Marketing and Communications graphic artists, writers and web designers, the social media marketing student worker will be involved in content creation and implementation across the university’s main social media platforms but with a special focus on TikTok.
-engaging the public with authentic brand messaging via various social (also referred to as "shared") media platforms in close partnership with WNMU Communications Specialist and other WNMU Marketing and Communications staff members, including graphic designers and web developers -launch and establish the university's main TikTok channel -support overall social/shared media strategy by implementing the creation and distribution of content across platforms -manage various channels using social media marketing tools including Meta Business and Creative Suites and Later -monitor real-time online conversations about the university across social media platforms and implement appropriate engagement strategies through reactions, comments and shares -play role in planning the university's editorial calendar for shared, owned and earned media -stay abreast of social media marketing trends and make recommendations for improvements to current and ongoing strategy -lend creative input during WNMU Marketing and Communications planning and brainstorm sessions -operate within the strategic framework and guidance of WNMU Marketing and Communications staff, striving to meet deadlines and goals
-familiarity with TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (functionality, trends, best practices) -experience creating social media content using in-platform tools and second-party tools -knowledge of brand image -conscientious mindset informed by daily awareness of current events and trends -able to work with keyboards, screens and digital technologies and equipment -time management and organization
