Works with new incoming students and their parents during New Student Orientation.
1. Develops open communication with faculty, advisors, staff, students, and family members attending New Student Orientation. 2. Leads groups for incoming students and/or families/parents. 3. Greets, welcomes, mentors, and supports first time students at Western New Mexico University throughout new student orientation. 4. Meets regularly with the orientation director and team to plan, evaluate, and prepare for orientation. 5. Works with all offices and departments on campus as needed to plan, promote, and host events for orientation. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Students must be: flexible, energetic, personable, a team player, outgoing, professional, timely, goofy, dependable, knowledgeable, responsible, creative, patient, reliable, compassionate, and able to relate and interact well with students, parents, faculty, and staff. Ability and desire to work with a diverse student population Must be available to participate in ALL training sessions and work collectively as part of a team to prepare for orientation programs
