Western New Mexico University is accepting applications for part-time Adjunct Faculty in the following disciplines:
Applied Technology – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach CCNA, Linux, Home Technology, Converge Networks, Microsoft, and Cyber Security computer classes. Requires two-year degree in Computer Technology with Industry Certification in the appropriate discipline or Industry certification in the appropriate discipline is required or A+ Certification or Microsoft IT Academy Training.
Seeks part-time CNA Instructors for Lordsburg, Socorro and Truth or Consequences, NM. An Associate’s degree in Nursing and licensure as a registered nurse to practice in New Mexico is required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
College of Arts & Sciences:
Expressive Arts – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach the following online courses: Graphic Design and Digital Media courses.
Humanities – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach face-to-face courses in the following disciplines: Communications (public speaking), English (developmental writing courses and composition and rhetoric I and II), and Spanish (beginning). At minimum, MA degree required.
Natural Sciences – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach one or more of these primarily face-to-face courses: Geology, Anatomy and Physiology, Forensic Science I, General Biology I and General Biology II, Microbiology, General College Chemistry I, General College Physics I, Physical Science for General Education I, and Chemistry for Life. Master’s degree in one of the physical sciences OR a related degree required OR a Master’s degree in biology if he/she has some experience teaching first year general chemistry type courses will be considered.
Social Sciences & Cultural Studies – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach introductory courses in the following disciplines: History, Sociology, Anthropology, and Geography.
College of Professional Studies:
School of Business & Economics – Seeks part-time online Adjunct Faculty for the undergraduate business and MBA programs to teach one or more of the following courses: Social Responsibility and Business Ethics, Managerial Accounting,Marketing, Management & Organizational Theory, Human Resource Management, Production & Operations, Statistics, Managerial Finance, International Business, Business Policy & Strategy, and Managerial Economics. PhD in business-related preferred, at minimum MBA or related degree required.
School of Education – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty in Gallup and Silver City to teach online/desktop conferencing classes in Elementary, Secondary, Special education, Reading, Physical Education, Instructional Technology, Bilingual Education and Career and Technical Education programs. Experience teaching at the master’s level and doctoral degree required.
School of Health Sciences:
Allied Health - Seeks part-time online Adjunct Faculty in the Rehabilitation Services Bachelor of Arts degree to teach one or more of the following courses: Introduction to Rehabilitation, Physical & Psychosocial Aspects of Disability, Employment for People with Disabilities, Medical Terminology & Documentation, Communication for Health & Human Services Providers, Fieldwork in Rehabilitation , Internship in Rehabilitation, Assistive Technology in Rehabilitation, Case Management in Rehabilitation and Services for Exceptional Children. Master degree required. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or a credential that provides evidence of knowledge or experience in rehabilitation education acceptable to the Commission on Undergraduate Standards and Accreditation required. Experience in teaching undergraduate level classes online is preferred.
Nursing – Seeks adjunct nursing faculty prepared to teach courses in clinical and/or laboratory settings. Responsibilities include effective planning and delivery of instruction materials for students enrolled in our pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Adjunct faculty are expected to contribute to student learning in a manner acceptable to the School of Nursing. MSN degree required with a current unencumbered RN license.
School of Human Services:
Social Work – Seeks part-time Adjunct Faculty for Silver City and Gallup, NM to teach general social work courses such as Policy and HBSE. MSW preferred.
Behavioral Sciences – Part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach introductory courses in the following discipline: Psychology. MA degree required.
Math & Computer Sciences – Needs part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach the introductory courses in the following disciplines: MATH 097, MATH 098, CMPS 111, MATH 105, MATH 111, and MATH 131. A Bachelor’s degree is required for all classes. A Master’s degree is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: If not listed above with position then the following applies: Degree in an appropriate field: Bachelor’s degree required for associates and certificate programs; Master’s degree required for baccalaureate programs; Doctorate required for graduate programs and some baccalaureate programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is desirable that applicants have past successful professional experiences with groups from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
